Mobile Auger
The Mobile Coal Sampling Equipment (MCSE) is the latest innovation from Rohan Engineering Enterprise. We have been working with schematics and small models since 2007 and finally got the opportunity to develop the existing model completed with the bin management system. Mobile Auger is specially designed and manufactured for the purpose of collecting coal samples from trucks / wagons for testing quality using a mechanized Auger. In Mobile Auger, the dimension of the Mechanized Auger has been designed as per IS-436 (Part-I/Section-I) standards. The equipment is mounted on a hydraulically-operated Retractable Arm. It can be raised above the rail wagon and then lowered to collect the coal sample. The rotary motion of the Auger enables it to go down in the coal up to the desired depth and pick up the sample. The MA’s motor is reversed and the sample is collected in the desired bin. This complete assembly is mounted on a mobile unit that can easily go to the rail wagon to be sampled.
A true sample of a truck and wagon open top shipping containers or any other bin type of containers of coal or any mineral can only be obtained prior to unloading. Once it is unloaded, the individual load mixes with other coal or minerals and loses its specific characteristics. This type of sample collecting device is one of the modern solutions to sample collection at the entry of a truck or rail wagon. Auger is mounted on a vehicle and can be moved to the truck and wagon to collect the sample. The REE Auger Sampling system is designed in accordance with the applicable ASTM standards and is rugged enough to maintain its reliability.
Customer Requirements
- Mobile Auger with only collection and storage of sample: Here the collected sample will be stored in a separate collection hopper fixed at the customer’s sample collection room.
- Mobile Auger with sample preparation system: This system consists of mobile auger with Collection Hopper, Crusher, Belt Feeder, Sample Divider, Bottle Collector and others. All the equipment other than the Auger will be installed in a covered container. Here the sample will be collected in a storage hopper and then will be discharged to a crusher following which it will go to the belt feeder and then through the divider - one will go to the sample collection bottle through chute and another will go to the rejection yard.
